Dive Camera works locally on your Android device. It does not require an account and includes no advertising, analytics, or tracking SDKs. It does not send data to the developer or transmit data over the internet by itself.

1. Information and permissions

Camera access is required for the viewfinder, photos, and videos. Microphone access is optional and used only when you enable audio for video. The app may open Android or manufacturer settings so you can allow lock-screen display behavior.

Dive Camera does not send personal information to the developer, sell it, or share it with third parties. Camera and microphone data are processed on the device only for the requested capture. The limited local technical log is described below.

2. Diagnostic logs

The app keeps a local diagnostic log of technical events, such as startup, permission-request results, camera initialization, successful captures, and errors. The log does not contain photos, videos, camera images, audio recordings, or media content. Entries older than 24 hours are automatically deleted. The log stays in the app's private storage unless you deliberately export it by tapping the Dive Camera image five times in About. You then choose the app used to share it. The selected app's own privacy policy and terms of use apply.

3. Files and storage

By default, media is saved to DCIM/DiveCamera. You may select another folder through Android's system picker. The app receives access to the location you select. Files remain on your device or in the selected storage location and may be accessible to gallery and file-manager apps, as well as backup or synchronization services configured by you.

4. Retention and deletion

Dive Camera keeps no remote copy of your media. You control retention and deletion through your gallery, file manager, storage provider, or device settings. Uninstalling the app may not delete media saved in shared storage.

5. Security and third parties

The app relies on Android's lock screen and permission systems. No software can guarantee absolute security. Device manufacturers, Android, storage providers, and other apps that can access your media operate under their own privacy terms.

6. Children's privacy

Dive Camera is not designed to intentionally collect personal information from children or other users.

7. Changes and contact

This policy may be updated when app behavior changes. The current project and issue tracker are available at github.com/yulis13/DiveCamera.
